May 2018 Updates

Hello again Prince Armory friends and fans. It’s Samuel again and I’ve got some overdue updates to share with everyone.   There’s a lot to cover so I think I will do an overview here and follow up later with single topic posts along the way.

Where’d you go?
I haven’t been the best at keeping up with social media, sorry about that. I know nobody is coming after me with a pitch fork but I appreciate that there are so many of you out there following Prince Armory and I don’t want people to think I don’t care. I get busy with other things and when I normally don’t have someone to help me with social media stuff it can take a back seat from time to time.

Even more so over the last year as around July of last year I relocated to The Woodlands (Houston, TX area) and I absolutely love it. Urban convenience while still lush with trees everywhere.  Needless to say, any move is a huge time sink and expensive to boot, never mind it being a personal + business move. Also, my crew did not make the move to Houston so there was some starting over on that front as well.

That’s alright, I’ll take the bad with the good, just understand I’ve had a lot on my plate for a while, guys. Maybe I should have kept a vlog or something but I just don’t have that routine yet though it’s on the horizon. I do have some help with social media starting now too. We’ll be posting pics of past and present works much more regularly. Be sure to let us know if there’s anything you do or don’t want to see, we’d love to hear from you.

Producing content:
I’ve been talking for a while about putting out more content including behind the scenes, tutorials, patterns, vlogs and whatever content people are wanting. I’m almost in a position to move forward with those plans and am setting things in motion. I’m not promising anything overnight, I still need to catch up on custom orders before investing significant time, but I’ll post a content plan and timetable when I get something firmed up. It will be soon though!  I’ll be getting a rolling start and I’m not going to get hung up on making everything epic and perfect, I just want to get some stuff out there and improve as I go.

Here’s what to expect from that:

I’ve determined I’ll be taking it two directions:

First is the Prince Armory side of things where I’ll be sharing more about the projects we make and creating tutorials, guides, and anything relating to our business in crafting armor and fantasy things. This deserves it’s own post a little later as there’s a lot to cover here.

The second direction is from a personal perspective. There will be topics I want to cover that just won’t fit into the niche of fantasy armor, weapons, and leather works, and I’ll be able to share a lot more variety of potentially interesting content if I develop a personal brand as well.  I’ll post more on that later as well.

I’m deciding what platforms will carry what content. Maybe video tutorials on youtube, behind the scenes on instagram, quick tips on facebook, and WIPs on patreon. I’ll play it by ear.  As more of a behind the camera guy, all the video stuff will be pretty new to me and I don’t expect it to be great at first but I’ll do my best and look to you guys to tell me what you do or don’t like so I can make it better for everyone.

Till next time!
