Project Updates 2016

This post is for everyone waiting on a custom project or who may be curious as to wait times for new projects at the present time.

Previously the project queue was getting out of hand. There were so many projects in line the wait time was 2, 3, or in some cases even 4+ years for a project. So throughout 2015 I accepted only the barest handful of projects and spent the year trying to catch up.

The queue is very dynamic and the number of projects don’t really make the best indicator of how long since they can be big or small, simple or complex. With that understanding, currently our queue is finally down to around 30 (from 60+ previously). The goal I would like to achieve is to consistently have around 10 to 20 large projects on file at any given point with a turnaround time of 3-6 months. This will be better for clients wanting their projects sooner, and better for us as well since we can be more fluid with our plans. Unfortunately this will mean further limiting the number of projects that are taken and more clients would be turned away which is also something we’re trying to balance.

For anyone waiting on a custom project, not withstanding variables such as longer term payment plans, we are looking to complete most projects on the books within around 12 months or so. We are trying to get a new shop built and move and that may actually delay things so no estimate is set in stone. As always check in any time

For anyone looking to get a new project started, you can expect a wait time of anywhere from 1 to 2 years but this is primarily limited to large high detail armor projects, high end weaponry, and in rare cases individual items like helmets or specialty things at an extravagant detail level.
